Visit of delegation led by H.E Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Haryana to Shanghai

(22- 23 January 2016)

1. Hon'ble Chief Minister (CM) of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, led a 15 member delegation while transiting through Shanghai, which included Captain Abhimanyu, Industries Minister, Ms. Kavita Jain, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Shri D.C. Kaushik , Member of Legislative Assembly and other senior officials of the Haryana Government.

2. During the Shanghai leg of the visit, a delegation from Shaoxing Foreign Affairs Office led by Mr. Ruan Jianyong, Vice Chairman of Shaoxing CPPCC called on Hon'ble Chief Minister and presented a proposal for establishment of sister city relations between Rewari and Shaoxing, given the long standing economic and commercial relations between the two cities. Hon'ble CM welcomed the proposal from Shaoxing and looked forward to receiving their delegation at the Happening Haryana Investors Summit in March 2015.

3. In addition, leading Indian businessmen from the textiles sector from Shaoxing and Yiwu also organised a business interaction for promoting textile industry interests from Eastern China region into Haryana. In their presentations, leading Indian textile companies cited requirements that would enable them to shift their production units to Haryana. Hon'ble CM while responding to the Yiwu and Shaoxing delegates, assured them of speedy redressal of their concerns as well as invited them to consider investing in Haryana by taking full advantage of the preferential policies being offered by the Haryana Government.

4. Subsequently, the delegation led by Hon'ble CM of Haryana also visited the Shanghai Urban Planning and Exhibition Center, where a detailed briefing on the urban planning requirements of Shanghai was provided. CII also organized a business interaction for some of the visiting delegates later in the afternoon, under the aegis of the India Business Forum, during which representatives of Indian companies from Eastern China region interacted with the visiting delegation.
