Intern Visa

  1. Applicable for those who intend to pursue internship in Indian companies, Educational Institutions and NGOs.
  2. Interns who are sponsored by Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiqueset Commerciales (AIESEC)
  3. French International Internship Program (VIE)
  4. Foreign nationals intending to work in Indian media organizations or foreign media organization in India as interns.                               


  1. The intern visa will be granted to those who have completed their graduation/post-graduation. The gap between the completion of graduation/post-graduation and the commencement of the internship should not be more than two year; 
  2. For French International Internship Program (VIE) visa would be granted for fresh graduates within one year of graduation.
  3. In case the internship is in a Company, the foreign national being sponsored by internship should draw a minimum remuneration of Rs. 7.80 lakhs per annum.

Other conditions 

Interns after landing in India will have to register themselves with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO)/ Foreign Registration Officer (FRO) concerned within 14 days of arrival in India if continuous stay is for more than 180 days.

Documents Required 

A letter from the Indian company/educational institution/NGO concerned sponsoring internship programme which enter-alia includes the following information;

1) Name of company/institute/NGO in India  
5)Duration of internship in months 
6)Annual remuneration to be received in INR
7) and an undertaking from the company/organization concerned that they will ensure departure of the intern on completion of the internship;

Important to Note: It normally takes 8 weeks for approval of Intern Visa. Hence applicants are required to apply at least 60 days prior to the date of internship.
