Consul General unfurled the tricolor and read out excerpts from Hon’ble Rashtrapatiji’s address to the nation. A large number of members of the Indian community turned up to participate at the flag hoisting celebrations.

In a special gesture, Vice Mayor of Yiwu H.E. Xiong Tao also joined in (on behalf of Yiwu Municipal People’s Government) to participate in the flag hoisting celebrations. Nearly 50 - 60 residents from Yiwu also joined in to participate at the flag hoisting celebrations in Shanghai.

During the flag hoisting event, children from Indian community rendered patriotic songs and informal gathering over light refreshment following at the Consulate.
